Last Sunday, Jarrod reminded us that we are not simply citizens of God’s Kingdom. We are family.

We do not have to earn our place in the family or work our way into the Father’s love. In Christ, we already belong. We are His beloved sons and daughters.

This Sunday, we stay in Ephesians and take that truth one step deeper.

Because there can be a difference between knowing God loves us and actually living as though we are loved.

We can know the verses. We can say that God loves us. We can believe it is true. And yet, sometimes there is still a gap between what we know and what has taken root in us.

In Ephesians 3, Paul prays that God’s people would not just know they are loved, but begin to grasp the depth of Christ’s love for them.

Not simply to know about His love, but to experience a love that Paul says is too great to fully understand.

Maybe that is an invitation for us, too.

As you prepare for Sunday, consider this question:

Where do I know God loves me, but struggle to receive that love more deeply?

This week, make Paul’s prayer your own:

“Root me in Your love.”

No trying harder. No figuring it all out. Just a simple prayer and an openness to receive what God has already given.

And maybe that is what it looks like to stay churchy this week. To receive the love God has already given.
