The Coming King, The Surrendered Servant
Week Three: The Crown of Thorns

Scripture: Isaiah 53:1–12 | Luke 22:39–46
“He was pierced for our rebellion, crushed for our sins. He was beaten so we could be whole; by His wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5

Starting Line: The King’s wounds heal the world. His surrender is His victory — and ours.
Questions for the Ride Home

  1. When you picture “strength,” what comes to mind? How does Jesus’ surrender reshape that image?
  2. What would “Not my will, but Yours” look like in your current season?
  3. How might your scars — physical, emotional, spiritual — become places where God brings healing to others?
  4. Why do you think God chose to reveal His power through suffering instead of force?

Time Between the Sundays: Live It

  • Slow down. Before reacting this week, pause and whisper, “Not my will, but Yours.”
  • Notice. Look for someone carrying quiet pain and offer encouragement, prayer, or presence.
  • Reflect. Enter into self-evaluation: Did I live from strength or from surrender today?

Prayer Prompt: Jesus, wounded King, teach me the strength that kneels. Let my surrender make room for Your healing power. May my scars tell of Your mercy, and my obedience sing of Your love.
