Happy Wednesday Vineyard Family!

There’s a strange kind of silence that happens in storms; not the calm before the storm but the quiet inside the storm. This is the space between panic and peace where you’ve done everything you can, and all that’s left is waiting.

The disciples knew that silence as they travelled with Jesus during His ministry. They had the Son of God in their boat, and still the waves got higher and the winds blew stronger. Their voices cracked with fear: “Don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

It’s a question that still echoes through our sleepless nights and unfinished prayers.

This Sunday, we will see that Jesus woke, spoke three words, “Peace, be still" and the sea obeyed. Notice, He didn’t rebuke them for waking Him. He rebuked the wind. He spoke to the thing they couldn’t control, not the ones who were scared. That’s the coming King; a surrendered servant.

When the wind won’t stop, remember this: The King hasn’t left the boat. His sovereignty isn’t meant to silence our questions, it’s meant to anchor them in something stronger than fear. Faith doesn’t always make the waves disappear, but it keeps us from sinking under them.

Henri Nouwen once wrote, “Faith is not the belief that God will spare you from the storm, but that He will sustain you through it.” That’s the kind of trust we grow into, the trust that doesn’t need to see the end before it rests in His hands.

So whatever storm you’re in this week, take a moment to breathe and whisper:

“You still reign, Lord.”

Let that truth settle deeper than the noise around you. The same King who calmed the sea still rules your sky. And one day, He will speak again, and all creation will exhale, Peace.
