We all crown something.
A cause. A leader. A dream. A version of ourselves we’re chasing.
It’s human to look for someone or something to hold it all together. The world feels fractured and fragile, and deep down we want to know that someone wise, strong, and good is in charge.
That desire is universal, something scripture says it’s designed into us. We were made to live under the care of a good King. The problem comes when we give that throne to the wrong person, the wrong people, or the wrong things.
Israel’s story shows this so clearly. They longed for stability and security, and they believed a human king could give them both. But the more kings they crowned, the more disappointment followed. Even the best of them broke under the weight.
Daniel’s vision in Daniel 7 comes from that ache; a world of beastly empires and temporary power. But through the chaos, he sees “One like a Son of Man… given authority, honor, and sovereignty over all nations… His kingdom will never be destroyed.”
That’s the King we’ve been waiting for. That’s the King who has already come.
This Sunday we begin our Fall teaching series called The Coming King, The Surrendered Servant. We’ll explore what it means to live under the rule of a King whose power looks nothing like the world’s.
If your heart feels weary from the constant cycle of failed leadership; if you’ve found yourself asking, “Who can I really trust?" this is the moment to come and see.
The King we’ve always needed is nearer than you think.
