Two disciples are walking away from Jerusalem… away from the place where everything happened. They aren’t rebelling. They’re confused. “We had hoped…” (v.21) Notice the language of disappointment when expectations and reality don’t match. We don’t always lose faith loudly; sometimes, we lose clarity quietly. Jesus doesn’t just give answers; He reshapes how we see our lives.
