Last Sunday, Romans 15 reminded us that hope grows in our shared life together. We bear with one another, extend the welcome we have received from Jesus, and trust God together. Sometimes his encouragement reaches us through someone willing to listen, pray, or stay beside us.

Then Monday comes, and the situation we prayed about is still there. We believe God is faithful, but waiting can wear us down.

This week, take a few quiet minutes to read Romans 15:13 and James 5:7–11. Paul prays for hope through the Holy Spirit’s power. James invites us to practice patience, remembering the Lord’s compassion and mercy. Together, these passages invite us to receive God’s care and let it shape how we live while questions remain unanswered.

Bring one unresolved situation to mind. Notice what it stirs in you: fear, frustration, sadness, or the urge to take control. You can be honest with God about all of it. Then consider: How is this waiting affecting the way I treat others? What might following Jesus look like here today?

Perhaps your next step is an apology, a commitment kept, or a willingness to ask for prayer. You may not be able to resolve the situation today, but you can respond to God within it.

Pray slowly: Father, you know what I am waiting for and how difficult it has become. Fill me with hope as I trust you. Keep my heart tender toward others, and show me the next faithful step. Help me receive your care and follow your leading. Amen.

On Sunday, we will continue into James 5, exploring what kind of people we are becoming while we wait. We will also make room to pray for healing, strength, and help for one another. Whatever this week holds, you can bring your unfinished life with you.

Grateful to walk with you,
