Last Sunday, Kai brought our time in Ephesians to a close with a reminder that standing firm is not about finding enough strength within ourselves. It is about depending on Christ and allowing Him to shape us through the ordinary moments of life. The faith we lean on during difficult seasons is often being formed long before we find ourselves in the middle of them.
As we continue our Season of Formation series, we turn to Genesis 16 and Exodus 33, where we encounter two people facing very different circumstances. Hagar finds herself in a place of hurt and uncertainty, while Moses is navigating the responsibility of leading God's people into what comes next.
Despite the differences in their circumstances, both stories remind us that God's presence matters in the middle of whatever we are walking through. We may not always understand our circumstances or know what comes next, but that doesn't mean God is absent. He sees where we are, knows what we are facing, and continues to be present with us along the way.
This Sunday, we'll have the opportunity to explore these passages together as our beloved pastor returns to the pulpit for the first time since sabbatical. It's been such a joy having him back with us these past couple of weeks, and we're looking forward to hearing what God has placed on his heart to share with us.
As you prepare for Sunday, consider this question:
Where in this season of life do I need to be reminded that God sees me and is present with me?
Whatever comes to mind, bring it to God in prayer, remembering that we don't have to have everything figured out to trust the One who goes with us.
Stay churchy.
We look forward to seeing you on Sunday!
