Coming King, Surrendered Servant Week One:
The King We’ve Always Needed
Scripture: Judges 21 | 1 Samuel 8 | Daniel 7 | Mark 1:14–15
Starting Line: Who have you trusted to lead or fix things in your life, personally or publicly, and how did that turn out?
Questions For the Ride Home
- Why did Israel want a human king instead of God (1 Samuel 8)?
- What do Daniel’s “beasts” teach us about human power?
- What kind of King does Daniel’s “Son of Man” reveal?
- Jesus says, “The Kingdom of God is near.” What does that mean for right now?
- Where are you tempted to “crown” something else: success, comfort, control?
Time Between the Sundays: Live It
- Shift allegiance: Surrender one area this week where you’ve been trying to rule.
- Look for the Kingdom: Each day, ask, “Where did I see God’s reign breaking in?”
- Worship response: Spend time with a song that centers Jesus as King!
Prayer Prompt
Jesus, You are the King we’ve always needed. Forgive us for crowning lesser things. Teach us to trust Your reign today, not just someday. And help us live as people of Your kingdom in the middle of this world’s chaos.
