Coming King, Surrendered Servant Week Two

Week Two — The Chosen Servant
Scripture: Isaiah 42:1–9 | Matthew 12:15–21
Starting Line: The same King Daniel saw in power, Isaiah saw in humility. The one enthroned in heaven now takes the posture of a servant: chosen, Spirit-filled, gentle, and just. In a world that prizes loudness, speed, and dominance, the Servant King reveals another kind of strength: the courage to heal instead of crush, to restore instead of rule. Justice, in God’s story, isn’t revenge, it’s restoration.
Questions For the Ride Home
- When you think of power or leadership, what images or experiences come to mind? How do they compare to the picture of the Servant in Isaiah 42?
- “Justice” in Scripture means setting things right. Where do you see things in your life that need that kind of restoration?
- How does Jesus’ gentleness challenge your understanding of strength?
- If last week’s call was to step off your little throne, what might it look like this week to place your bruises in His hands?
Living It Out
- Notice: This week, pay attention to moments when you feel the need to prove strength or control. What would gentleness look like instead?
- Serve: Ask God to show you one person who feels unseen, bruised, or tired. Reach out to this person with compassion.
- Reflect: End your day by asking, “Did my presence today bring peace or pressure?” Let the Servant King reshape your posture.
