Walk in Love

Last Sunday, John reminded us that leaving the old behind and becoming more like Jesus is not a one-time thing.

It is ongoing.

Jesus is still renewing us, changing us, and inviting us into something new. And a lot of that formation shows up in the way we live with the people around us. John talked about our words, forgiveness, kindness, compassion, and what it looks like to build one another up.

This Sunday, we move into Ephesians 5, where Paul gives us a simple invitation:

Walk in love.

We talk about love a lot as followers of Jesus, but Paul brings it right into everyday life.

How we respond to people. How we speak. What we do when loving someone is inconvenient or costs us something. The small choices we make when nobody is really paying attention.

Love is not just something we believe in.

It is something we practice.

As you prepare for Sunday, consider this question:

Where might Jesus be inviting me to practice love more intentionally this week?

Pay attention to the people already in front of you. Maybe there is one simple way to choose love in a place where it would be easier not to.

Stay churchy.

Let love show up in the ordinary places.
