Last Sunday, Adam reminded us of Jesus' invitation to remain.
Remain connected.
Remain rooted.
Remain close.
As Adam reminded us to remain close to Jesus, this week we begin by remembering who Jesus is.
As we start our new series, A Season of Formation: Living as the Church Together, we're not jumping straight into what the Church should do. We're starting with the One who brings us together in the first place.
Jesus.
In Colossians 1, Paul gives us one of the clearest pictures of who Christ is. He's not just part of our story. He's the center of it. He's the One through whom all things were created, the One who holds all things together, and the One who invites us to build our lives around Him.
It is easy for our attention to drift.
Sometimes it's work.
Sometimes it's the next thing on the calendar.
Sometimes it's trying to solve problems before we've taken them to Jesus.
Maybe this week is an opportunity to pause.
As you prepare for Sunday, consider this question:
What's been shaping my attention lately?
Then spend a few moments with Jesus. No long prayer required. Just an honest conversation with the One who knows you and loves you.
As we begin this new season together, our prayer is simple: that we would become people who keep returning to Jesus and allow Him to shape the way we live, love, and follow Him.
So this week, stay churchy.
Stay rooted in Christ.
And we look forward to seeing you on Sunday.
