HEROES | Noah & Abraham

We continue to explore the stories of HEROES of the faith as told in Hebrews 11. This week, we discuss Noah and Abraham. Rather than exhibiting superhuman strength, heroes Noah and Abraham demonstrated their faith by obedience that sets them apart from the rest of humanity. Obedience demonstrates what we love, hope in, and trust, as well as what our participation in God's plan looks like. In obedient faith, Noah built a boat to prepare for something that had never happened before, looking like a fool and suffering ridicule because his obedience didn't make sense. In obedient faith, Abraham answered the call to adventure with God. Despite Abraham's struggle to "help" God fulfill His plan in a way that was comfortable for Abraham himself, Abraham's faith was tested and God's character revealed as the Lord Who provides. What would happen if we take God at His word? It is an invitation to participate in God's great adventure together.
