Built Together

Last Sunday, we talked about what happens when we remember what Christ has done.

Christ brought us near. He tore down the walls that separated us and formed us into one people. Not because we all have the same story, but because we belong to the same Christ.

This Sunday, we stay in Ephesians 2 and see where Paul takes that picture next.

The people who were once strangers and outsiders are now part of God’s family. Paul then gives us another picture of that belonging: God is building His people together, with Christ as the cornerstone.

There is something important about that word: together.

Because belonging is more than being in the room.

We can show up every Sunday and still keep parts of ourselves on the outside. We can know people’s names without really knowing them. We can be surrounded by community and still choose isolation because sometimes that feels easier.

But God is forming us together.

He invites us not only to belong to Him, but to belong to one another.

As you prepare for Sunday, consider this question:

Where might God be inviting me to take one step deeper into community?

Maybe it is joining a small group. Serving alongside someone. Starting a conversation. Asking someone to coffee. Or allowing yourself to be a little more known.

It does not have to be a huge step.

Just one intentional move toward deeper community.

Stay churchy.

Make room to know and be known.
