Hello Vineyard Family! Happy Wednesday!
This past Sunday, we sat with a question that gets to the center of everything: “Do you love me?” Not “Are you doing enough?” Not “Have you figured everything out?” But “Do you love me?”
It’s a question that re-centers us because what we love most will shape how we live and how we see everything around us... But here’s what many of us experience: that question brings clarity to our hearts but not always clarity to our circumstances.
You can love Jesus and still feel confused. You can follow Him and still find yourself in a season where things don’t quite make sense. That’s where we’re headed this Sunday. In Luke 24, two disciples are walking away from Jerusalem, trying to process everything that just happened. And they say something many of us have felt: “We had hoped…”
They didn’t stop believing entirely; they just stopped understanding. Jesus meets them right there, in the midst of their confusion. He walks with them, listens to them, and then begins to reshape how they see the story.
Following Jesus is not just about loving Him... It’s about learning to see our lives through Him.
A Simple Practice for This Week
Take a few minutes each day with Scripture, maybe Luke 24, and begin with this prayer:
“Jesus, help me see.” Not just the text. Your life.
Pay attention to where things feel unclear, where expectations haven’t been met, where you might be quietly saying, “I had hoped…”
In this story, their hearts begin to burn before their eyes fully open. That’s often how Jesus works: He stirs something before He clarifies it. So don’t rush it.
This Sunday
If you’ve felt uncertain… if things haven’t made sense… if you’ve been carrying a quiet disappointment… This is a week to lean in. Come expectant; Jesus is still opening eyes.
I'll see you Sunday. Stay Churchy, my Friends!
