Vineyard Church | Weekly Update August 13th, 2025

Happy Wednesday!
I hope your week is going well and that you have found opportunities to boldly display your cracks to the world around you! This past Sunday, we sat with Paul’s words:
“We have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” — 2 Corinthians 4:7
Paul showed us how God chooses to place His glory in fragile, imperfect people so that it’s clear the strength comes from Him. Our cracks aren’t something to cover up—they’re where His light shines through.
Even though we know this is true, being vulnerable can feel difficult and even threatening. When it comes time for prayer ministry, many of us stay seated. Maybe we don’t want to admit we need help. Maybe we think our crack is too wide, our weakness too obvious. Maybe we think, I’ll just deal with it quietly between me and God.
But here’s the truth: prayer with one another is one of the main ways God fills us with His strength. Ministry time isn’t for “those people over there who have big problems”—it’s for all of us jars of clay who want more of His treasure.
In the Strength in Surrender series, we’ve been talking about boldness—not the kind that comes from having it all together, but the courage to be honest, to let someone else see the real us, and to let our cracks show so God’s power can shine.
When we come forward for prayer, we’re not just asking for help—we’re making space for the Holy Spirit to work in our lives and in the lives of those praying for us. That’s mutual ministry. That’s the body of Christ. That’s one more way we live into the gift of eternal life, which begins now—not just someday in heaven.
This week, I want to encourage you: if God stirs your heart during ministry time, be bold. Step forward. Let someone stand with you, place a hand on your shoulder, and invite God’s power into your weakness. Don’t hide the cracks. Let His treasure shine through.
See you Sunday,
