Vineyard Church | Weekly Update September 24th, 2025
Sep 24, 2025
Hello Vineyard Fam, I hope the week is rolling along well!
We’ve spent this summer together walking through Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians, and every step has carried the same thread: real strength isn’t found in ourselves, but in surrender to Jesus.
We’ve seen that:
-
God comforts us so we can comfort others.
-
With unveiled faces, we reflect His glory with boldness.
-
We are jars of clay — fragile, ordinary, yet carrying His treasure.
-
Christ’s love compels us to live as His ambassadors.
-
Generosity flows from grace, not guilt.
-
True leadership looks like humility, service, and sacrifice.
And now Paul brings us to the very heart of the matter: “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor. 12:9).
A Challenging Reflection
If we’re honest, most of us work hard to cover our weaknesses. We polish our image. We control outcomes. We chase strength we can measure.
But Paul flips the script. He boasts in his scars, in sleepless nights, in hunger and hardship. Why? Because it’s there, in weakness, that God’s power breaks through.
The question is: where do you resist weakness in your life?
-
A place you hide your struggle from others?
-
A “thorn” you’ve begged God to take away?
-
A situation you try to control because trusting Him feels too risky?
Those may be the very places Jesus is waiting to meet you.
A Spiritual Practice for This Week
Take a few minutes each day with open hands before God.
-
Read 2 Corinthians 12:9–10 slowly.
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness… For when I am weak, then I am strong.” -
Name your weakness. Speak it honestly to God — your weariness, your control, your fear.
-
Surrender it. Pray: “Lord, let Your power be made perfect right here. I cannot, but You can.”
-
Rest. Sit quietly for two minutes, letting His Spirit remind you that His grace is enough.
Looking Ahead
This Sunday we close our series with Paul’s final word to the Corinthians: Strength in Weakness.
It’s not the end; it’s the beginning of freedom. For the next twenty years as a church, and for the next week of your life, the same truth stands: God’s power works through surrendered, serving hearts.
Who in your life needs to hear that? Invite them to join you this Sunday!
